Divisional Charts 4

He was madly in love with a girl. His marriage was fixed with her but the girl in June/July 2016 (major period of Rahu and sub-period of the Sun) refused to get married to him. He is unable to forget her.

Rahu projects aspect to the fifth house and it is associated with Venus. Therefore the individual will have a love affair in this major-period.

Saturn projects aspect to the eighth house and is therefore capable of causing disappointment and break. Ketu is in sambandh with Saturn.

Rahu will therefore cause a break and disappointment.

The Moon and Venus have exchanged signs. The Sun projects aspect to the fifth house and is associated with Saturn. It is in a constellation of the Moon. Hence the Sun will cause break in romance and unhappiness on that count.

Let us now come to the panchamsa. Rahu is debilitated in the ascendant of the divisional chart and it has the aspect of Saturn which projects aspect to the fifth house in this chart as well and the eighth.

The Sun is placed in a friendly sign but has the aspect of Saturn and Rahu. 

Divisional Charts 3

This individual has had several car accidents in the major-period of Venus. He has now almost stopped driving.

He has had constant trouble with his car in this major-period. 

Venus is the karaka for cars. It is also the major-period planet.

Shodashamsa is the divisional chart that refers to cars. 

Venus occupies a sign of Mars in the birth chart. Mars is debilitated in the chart and owns the sixth and eleventh houses.

Venus is debilitated in the Shodashamsa and occupies the sixth house of trouble and accidents.

Divisional Chart 2

This is the chart of a female who got married on 20/January/1938 in the major-period of Rahu and sub-period of the Moon.

She suffered so much humiliation in marriage that she had a divorce in the major-period of Jupiter and sub-period of Venus on 17/November/1948. 

Venus is at 12^O44’4”. It is placed in the III house in Libra in the navamsha chart and therefore appears to be strong but it receives aspects from Mars, Saturn and Ketu. It is the karaka for marital life and it is the sub-period planet as well. Therefore marriage is likely to be unhappy and the trouble may come to a head in its sub-period.

Jupiter occupies the sixth house in the navamsha chart and it is debilitated there. It is associated with Saturn. Therefore the period of Jupiter is also likely to cause unhappy developments in marriage.

Navamsha chart is a chart that shows various facets of married life. A planet that occupies a bad house, is debilitated or it is under influence of naturally malefic planets such as Saturn, Mars, Rahu or Ketu in the navamsha chart is likely to cause unhappy developments relating to marriage.

Marriage suffers in the period of such a planet.

Thus we notice that the both the period planets are inclined to cause trouble in marriage. The conjunction of Jupiter, the owner of the eighth house in the navamsha chart and Saturn the owner of the seventh house in that chart points to a break in marriage.   

Divisional Charts 1

The divisional chart is a great tool to analyse some specific aspects of human life. They are available for analysing siblings, luck, love and respect, accidents and illness, children, marriage, calamities, profession, gains and success, parents, vehicles, spiritual attainments and learning.

Parashar says that all aspects of life can be analysed with the help of akshavedamsa and shastiamsa charts. The former is a chart with 1/45^th division of a sign and the latter with 1/60^th division.

There is difference of opinion over the method to analyse a divisional chart. Some are of the view that it can be done in the same manner as the birth chart; others feel that besides this there are specific methods too of doing so.

In this series on the divisional charts we will take up methods of analysing these charts but in the present write up we will discuss the analysis of the karaka (significator) for younger siblings, property, injury, and murder in the divisional chart. The karaka in question is Mars.

The D-3 (dreshkan) chart is based on 1/3^rd division of a sign. It is the specific chart for siblings. The karaka for younger siblings is Mars and for elder it is Jupiter.

If in the D-3 chart Mars is debilitated, placed in an inimical sign, placed in VI, VIII or XII house of the chart, or is under influence of naturally malefic planets like Saturn, Rahu or Ketu it is very likely that the individual will face difficulties or unhappiness due to his younger siblings. If Jupiter is so placed it is likely that the individual will face trouble or unhappiness on account of his elder siblings. The quantum of trouble can be determined according to the degree of affliction to the karaka.    

If Mars is placed badly as explained above in D-4 (chaturthamsa) chart the individual will have trouble on account of property. This chart is based on 1/4^th division of a sign and it represents property. Mars is the karaka for it.

If Mars is placed badly as explained above in the D-6 (sastamsa) chart the individual could be prone to injuries or accidents. This chart is based on 1/6^th division of a sign. The individual may have to under go surgeries or he may face litigation. This is the chart for these matters and Mars is the karaka for these.  

The D-8 is the chart for calamities and murders. It is based on 1/8^th division of a sign. If Mars is badly placed in this chart as explained above the individual may suffer from major or fatal accidents or he may be murdered.   

We will notice that as Mars changes its position in a sign at birth it changes its position in the divisional charts and affliction to it alters. Therefore if Mars is placed in a sign in the birth chart it is not necessary that it would give similar results to all who have Mars in that position. The effects of Mars will change according to the degrees that it occupies in a sign. 

Suppose Mars occupies Cancer at 27 deg 13 min 37 sec in a chart. It will be in Pisces sign in the D-3 chart and would be good for the younger siblings unless it is placed in the VI, VIII or XII house in the D-3 depending on the ascendant of the divisional chart or suffers from adverse influence in it. 

Similarly, it will be in Aries in the D-4 chart and good for property unless it has incidental disabilities described above.

It would be in Pisces in D-6, and in Scorpio in D-8 and favourable to the individual. 

Mars is thus debilitated in the birth chart yet it does not disturb its significations.
